Cure these celebrities now!

  • Posted on May 4, 2009

Look to the stars? Why? Are they God? No, but unfortunately there are too many people who think so. If that wasn’t the case, there wouldn’t be these websites telling who donates their excess financial wealth towards Autism Speaks and Cure Autism Now.

Did I say I didn’t want to get involved in politics? Answers to prayer don’t always take long before they’re evident. I asked God (moments before publishing this post— without the edits),  “Please push me off this runaway wagon heading for a cliff before I get anymore nauseated!” About ninety minutes later, the real reason why I was nauseated kept becoming clearer.

I didn’t change my mind about the need to cure the ignorance of celebrities who financially support organizations trying to rid the world of its autistic population. It was my attitude that needed changing. Somewhere along the line, I forgot (as John Bradford said), “There but for the grace of God, go I.” Jesus’ prayer, stated in Luke 23:34, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” was what I digested for my spiritual lunch today.

What these anti-autistic stars need (besides being enlightened to honor neurodiversity) is prayer. It’s what everyone needs. May God be merciful to shed His light upon these dark stars and all those who blindly follow the blind. It would do us all well to keep in remembrance what’s said in James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

God is the judge of what every good gift and every perfect gift is. His word, contained in the Holy Bible, has all the sufficient answers to life we need.
