Euthanize Euphemisms

  • Posted on May 12, 2009

The only cure for dysphemisms is to euthanize euphemisms. Is our purpose in life found by avoiding anything which might be offensive?

“For a moment she [Lara] rediscovered the purpose of her life. She was here on earth to grasp the meaning of its wild enchantment and to call each thing by its right name, or, if this were not within her power, to give birth out of love for life to successors who would do it in her place.” — Boris Pasternak, Doctor Zhivago

An ability to call each thing by its right name probably isn’t possible for those trapped in the fear of being perceived as lacking in empathy. What’s wrong with people who can’t see that it’s possible to have empathy, while at the same time avoiding the use of euphemisms?

“To call each thing by its right name. By its right name.” — Christopher McCandless, Into the Wild

Children don’t usually have a problem with saying things the way they are; nor do they with hearing things the way they are. The only time it becomes one is when they’ve learned how to intentionally be malicious with their phrases. Once they’ve discovered how much fun it is, they can become motivated to perfect those skills.

Euphemisms may be created with good intentions, but since human nature is as political is it is, there is nothing to stop these polite phrases from becoming abused.

Ironically, since Aspies naturally take things literal until taught otherwise, it’s the Aspies who get labeled as lacking in empathy because of not being accustomed to inventing terms for the purpose of avoiding offending neurotypicals.

If there is one thing neurotypicals need to understand more than anything else about Aspies it’s that we do not get offended by being told something straightforward the way it actually is. Euphemisms, for the most part, can be offensive to an Aspie → especially when NTs catch on to what fun it is being able to insult an Aspie without his or her awareness. Just because someone gets older, doesn’t mean s/he becomes more mature.

Here’s something to think about:

America accommodates Mexicans (most of which probably arrived illegally) by increasingly incorporating the Spanish language into the US. Why is it that gets accepted, but accomodations are not allowed for Aspies? What happens instead is Aspies are forced to endure dysphemisms such as: disorder, disease, disability, etc.

Being an Aspie doesn’t mean being too stupid to catch on to what’s going on. I’d like to know why, after all these years that Aspergers has now been public knowledge, NTs have not embraced a euphemism to honor neurodiversity. Could it be because it’s true that NTs don’t want to honor neurodiversity?

The Ultimate Theory of Mind

  • Posted on May 3, 2009

Aspies, who stay loyal to their true nature, don’t practice and/or like trickery, deceit, lying, telling and keeping secrets, being told half truths, studying the weaknesses of others who are trusting them, or anything else that’s training for competition in social politics. This is one reason why neurotypicals, generally speaking, quickly outgrow being naïve and are much less gullible. NTs, compared to Aspies, are not simple [guileless, harmless, innocent, unsuspecting].

No other time in history have good words and fair speeches been as deceptive as they are now! Mankind has had many years to refine this sinful craft to perfection for this Great Tribulation period we’re in.

Romans 16:18, “For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly [self-desires]; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

What happens when an Aspie loves to serve the Lord Jesus Christ? The outcome isn’t necessarily as would be suspected. God’s plan far exceeds what any humanistic psychology can come up with. How can that be?

1 Corinthians 1:26:28, “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:”

Why would God’s ways not be as man’s ways? [Isaiah 55:8, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.]

1 Corinthians 1:29, “That no flesh should glory in his [God's] presence.”

Can the hearts of the simple avoid being deceived by good words and fair speeches? Only if they are quickened spiritually [regenerated].

1 Corinthians 2:15, “But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

An Aspie left in his unregenerate state is not unlike an unsaved NT when it comes to discerning [understanding/judging] a child of God. No unsaved soul (regardless of his neurostructure) is equipped to judge someone who has God’s Holy Spirit abiding within. It doesn’t matter if that spiritually saved individual is a NT or an Aspie, he is unable to be judged because…

1 Corinthians 2:14, “…the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

Before I became saved, I was very naïve and gullible. Since I’ll probably always be relatively naïve [simple, harmless, guileless] compared to others my age, in order to protect myself from being gullible, I must not ignore God’s Spirit when He is nudging me. I used to be at the ideal end of the spectrum for being deceived by good words and fair speeches, but now when I trust and apply my spiritual gift of discernment, I’m at the opposite end— enabling me to see others being deceived.

It’s a blessing and a curse. I’m protected, but I’m also frustrated because I can’t save those who are deceived.¹ It’s like watching a movie and wanting to get the victim’s attention to save him, but when you’re not the screenwriter, all you can do is pray the author hasn’t destined him to doom.

¹Those who are deceived will not and cannot hear the truth. [Philippians 2:13, "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." John 6:44, "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:"]

From the Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Commentary on 1 Corinthians 2:14-16:

14. natural man–literally, “a man of animal soul.” As contrasted with the spiritual man, he is governed by the animal soul, which overbears his spirit, which latter is without the Spirit of God (Jud 1:19). So the animal (English Version, “natural”) body, or body led by the lower animal nature (including both the mere human fallen reason and heart), is contrasted with the Spirit-quickened body (1Cr 15:44-46). The carnal man (the man led by bodily appetites, and also by a self-exalting spirit, estranged from the divine life) is closely akin; so too the “earthly.” “Devilish,” or “demon-like”; “led by an evil spirit,” is the awful character of such a one, in its worst type (Jam 3:15).
receiveth not–though they are offered to him, and are “worthy of being received by all men” (1Ti 1:15).
they are foolishness unto him–whereas he seeks “wisdom” (1Cr 1:22).
neither can he–Not only does he not, but he cannot know them, and therefore has no wish to “receive” them (Rom 8:7).

15. He that is spiritual–literally, “the spiritual (man).” In 1Cr 2:14, it is “A [not 'the,' as English Version] natural man.” The spiritual is the man distinguished above his fellow men, as he in whom the Spirit rules. In the unregenerate, the spirit which ought to be the organ of the Holy Spirit (and which is so in the regenerate), is overridden by the animal soul, and is in abeyance, so that such a one is never called “spiritual.”
judgeth all things–and persons, by their true standard (compare 1Cr 6:2-4, 1Jo 4:1), in so far as he is spiritual. “Discerneth . . . is discerned,” would better accord with the translation of the same Greek (1Cr 2:14). Otherwise for “discerned,” in 1Cr 2:14, translate, “judged of,” to accord with the translation, “judgeth . . . is judged” in this fifteenth verse. He has a practical insight into the verities of the Gospel, though he is not infallible on all theoretical points. If an individual may have the Spirit without being infallible, why may not the Church have the Spirit, and yet not be infallible (a refutation of the plea of Rome for the Church’s infallibility, from Mat 28:20, Jhn 16:13)? As the believer and the Church have the Spirit, and are yet not therefore impeccable, so he and the Church have the Spirit, and yet are not infallible or impeccable. He and the Church are both infallible and impeccable, only in proportion to the degree in which they are led by the Spirit. The Spirit leads into all truth and holiness; but His influence on believers and on the Church is as yet partial. Jesus alone, who had the Spirit without measure (Jhn 3:34), is both infallible and impeccable. Scripture, because it was written by men, who while writing were infallibly inspired, is unmixed truth (Pro 28:5, 1Jo 2:27).

16. For–proof of 1Cr 2:15, that the spiritual man “is judged of no man.” In order to judge the spiritual man, the ordinary man must “know the mind of the Lord.” But “who of ordinary men knows” that?
that he may instruct him–that is, so as to be able to set Him right as His counselor (quoted from Isa 40:13, 14). So the Septuagint translates the Greek verb, which means to “prove,” in Act 9:22. Natural men who judge spiritual men, living according to the mind of God (“We have the mind of Christ”), are virtually wishing to instruct God, and bring Him to another mind, as counselors setting to right their KING.
we have the mind of Christ–in our degree of capability to apprehend it. Isa 40:13, 14 refers to JEHOVAH: therefore, as it is applied here to Christ, He is Jehovah.

Time to flip some tables.

  • Posted on December 3, 2008

No, I don’t literally have tables to flip. I’m just feeling angry like Jesus did when he went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves. [Matthew 21:12]

There are many things I could write about to express my anger over the way my country is going down the toilet and how foolish too many people are. Those who are fooled are the ones who believe society is getting better over time.¹ I WISH I could bury my head in the sand too, but try as hard as I might, I can’t seem to get it to stay under.

What finally popped my cork bottling the more silent aspects of my views came from reading Raquel Okyay’s Political Blog post where she asks, “Mr. Obama, Where is Your True Birth Certificate?² I was wavering on bringing attention to Victims of Law by writing about a recent personal story of injustice, but finally decided against doing so.

Corruption is everywhere. It’s just at different levels in different places. We’re left to console ourselves with the thought of voting for the lesser of evils. It’s no wonder that doesn’t work too well.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”   — Ephesians 6:12

God told us we should be praying. That includes praying for our enemies. We can pray for them as we do all we can to stop their malicious activities.

Jesus didn’t go into the temple with a peace sign trying to negotiate with the moneychangers. He charged in there and physically flipped their tables! Unfortunately today shame seems to be becoming a thing of the past. In fact, I was recently told by a NT acquaintance that it’s not ‘polite’ to shame a person face-to-face who behaves wrong!

It has become a joke to refer to judges with the title of honorable now that, ”Immunity applies even when the judge is accused of acting maliciously and corruptly.” Immunity allows them to have no regard towards reproof, so where’s the honor in that?!

“Poverty³ and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.”  — Proverbs 13:18

¹The concept of what’s better is relative. For immoral, dishonest, greedy people… yes, society has improved. For those living by integrity… absolutely not!

²In a comment on her blog, someone asked if we could stick to the issues that concern us. So, it doesn’t concern us when those with ‘powerful connections’ get to live above the law while the rest of us must abide by it?!

³God is referring to spiritual poverty → God’s spirit does not abide in those who refuse [His] instruction, but shame does (they just aren’t aware of it).

Those Who Have It Don’t Get It

  • Posted on October 7, 2008

Those who have more money (usually the white-collar workers) or someone else’s money to spend (e.g., government controlled health insurance), don’t seem to know how some of us on the other side think.

I’m not complaining about having less money to spend than others or about not having man’s health insurance (God’s plan isn’t corrupted). I am actually quite thankful for my lot in life. The Prayer of Agur¹ might not be popular, but what can you expect when there are more fools than wise men?

I’m reading Michael John Carley‘s book Asperger’s from the Inside Out. Like most books, it needs to be read cautiously. I can understand why he says what he does. Most Aspies would think and feel like he does, but not all do. I won’t get into every part of his book where I deviate, but I will bring up one statement though. It bugs me whenever I see subjective claims being expressed as objective ones. Here is an example:

I agree, support groups can create good feelings. I don’t agree with Carley’s blanket statement (on page 54) that Aspies need individualized therapy. Aspies can want this and maybe non-Christian Aspies do need it, but he should not speak for me. God only knows what I need and He always faithfully reveals it to me. When other agents enforce upon me what it is they think I need, they create problems in my life and then leave me to clean up the mess.

Whenever people corral others into their penned opinion, they can cause problems for those who are of a different herd. What makes this especially upsetting is the problem behind who gets to decide who are the appropriate therapists.² Yes, people get to choose their therapists, doctors, dentists, etc. (usually, but not always!). But… politics get the upper hand behind the scene. [Look at how the government's schools deal with issues they won't admit being unable to handle.] Laws get made like the Senate bill 6527-B, which directs the Commissioner of Heath to establish best practice protocols for the early screening of children for autism spectrum disorders (this was passed on July 27, 2008). I don’t know about anybody else, but to me, I see a lot of loop-holes here and vagueness that opens the door wide for people (who love money) to use people. Add to that potential chaos, misdiagnoses and hastily prescribed meds.³ What if it can be proven later that Aspergers does not belong on the Autism Spectrum and Aspie children are forced into the same treatment mold as Autie children?…then what? The repercussions could be enormous.

I can see that those (e.g., psychologist) who have it (i.e., money) don’t get it (comprehend) when you try to tell them you can’t afford to pay them what they are asking for. Usually they want $100 an hour, but they may settle for $40 instead if they think they’re not going to get the amount they’d like. That’s fine, but what isn’t okay is to assume that $40 a week (how many weeks is enough?) wouldn’t be missed from the ‘grocery’ money. Only the people living in the household know if $40/wk would be cutting into the entrée rather than desserts. It’s not for someone else to decide.

I know some (maybe all?) of what I’ve said here will be taken the wrong way, but I can’t do anything about that. To whoever may be upset by my words, I don’t mean to step on your toes. However, keep in mind I have just as many toes as any other person and they have feelings too.

¹Proverbs 30:7-9,
“Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die:
Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:
Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.”

²Those who know the blessings learned in Psalm 1:1→ “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.” ← would not find appropriate therapy in humanistic psychology for their life… useful information yes, therapy no.

³Long-term effects will reveal mistakes when the pharmaceutical industry doesn’t want to.

What Is Not Activisim

  • Posted on September 10, 2008

What dilemma does an asperger christian face when wanting to abide by Christ-likeness but yet also wants to be an advocate for asperger’s syndrome? It’s understandable how easy it is for pro-diversity and intolerance to get confused and mislabeled.

Too many people wrongly think that a Christian pro-aspie who stands strongly behind his convictions of faith and convictions of intolerance towards those who are intolerant of neurodiversity must be a hypocrite. This belief is a mistake. My guess as to why this conclusion gets jumped to so often is because the people who do that might not have ever gotten to know what is truly Christ-like behavior.

Society is becoming accustomed to seeing a type of Christianity that isn’t representative of what pleases God. I recently warned an aspie friend (or acquaintance?—I’m not sure where that boundary exists) to not judge Christianity by paying attention to ‘Christians’. If someone wants to judge what Christianity is, they must go to the source→ Christ, as portrayed in His Father’s word (the Bible).

There are two excellent articles published by Rick Miesel called “Christian” Activism? and Is Controversy Christian? that I’ve recently re-read and I am thankful for being reminded of those words of wisdom. I highly recommend these articles to both Christians and non-Christians. Non-Christians might be surprised to find that these are articles they may actually enjoy, especially since this would equip them to spot unChrist-like behavior. The only reason I could think why non-Christians would avoid reading them would be because they really want to hang onto their excuses while they are attacking Christianity.

The main point behind the first article mentioned is→ ”Christian activism” is wrong and it’s NOT the same thing as a Christian living out his personal life in obedience to God. Even though a believer should NOT be trying to “change the world for Christ” but rather should be “converting individuals” (yes, there is a difference and admittedly it isn’t easy to discern),¹ it is good for anyone—regardless of where they place their faith—to try to change things in this world that are harmful to the well-being of all humans. There are examples detailing these distinctions in the article, so I won’t bring them up here.

The main point behind the second article is→ Tolerance and compromise are NOT the same thing. Tolerance is to grant to another the same rights which I claim for myself. Compromise is to sacrifice heart-felt conviction in order that someone else may be pleased or in order to avoid a breach of peace. Many earnest Christians are opposed to religious controversy, so they tend to avoid which would  bring into focus matters likely to cause controversy. This is NOT what is meant by a spirit of tolerance.

¹Converting individuals by preaching the Gospel is NOT activism, because it is not directed to society as a whole but rather toward individuals who desire to hear more about what the Gospel message is (by the way, there exists a false Gospel that is predominantly preached today). Readers who might think that my blog is being directed to society as a whole might be wise to ask themselves if they alone comprise society. If they mistakenly think so, then the only reason that can be is because of pride. Personally, I am aware of being a mere individual whenever I’m reading someone else’s blog.

Minds of Fate

  • Posted on September 5, 2008

It goes against human nature to evaluate a person objectively. People prefer to first find out if someone agrees with their primary ideas (usually meaning their political side on issues). If that person does, then you can just about bet nothing negative will ever be said about their ‘saint’. If, on the other hand, that person is not ‘agreeable’, then nothing positive will ever be said about him (or her). How retarded is that?!

Even though I do express some of my concerns through my blog, most of my passions remain unpublished. Passions should usually remain private because of the passiveness embedded within. No matter how much someone might examine or re-examine their thoughts, there will always be some remnant of prejudice yet remaining.

Voting is a choice and who gets elected results from choices made. People like having a sense of control over their destiny. The most repulsive thought to most would be knowing that God sovereignly controls everything and everyone. What’s an abhorrence to some, can be peace for others.

I can’t be the only person who finds comfort in knowing that God ultimately rules over everything man does. Sovereignty is a complex subject that’s impossible to understand without God’s spirit to enlighten the mind. The bottom line is that it’s either going to make a person feel angry or calm.

How many people can enjoy God’s serenity in situations they can’t control? How many even know about this part in Reinhold Niebuhr’s famous prayer:  ?

“Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;”

No one other than God can direct thoughts.¹ People say what they will, hoping that their words are almighty. Most of the time, people don’t even realize that what they write or say can be actually having the opposite effect. Usually they are the ones who are so sure of themselves that they don’t even think (or care?) about what impact they’re having.

Whatever man might will, God must appoint it to be. No ruler is independently able bring his own purposes to pass even though it may seem he has all things at his command.

“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” — Proverbs 21:1 (King James Version)

“Just as water is turned into irrigation ditches, so the Lord directs the king’s thoughts. He turns them wherever He wants to.” — Proverbs 21:1 (The Living Bible)

¹Even though God permits Satan to do evil in this world, God is not to be blamed for it. God ‘owes’ no one anything.

Internet versus Books and TV

  • Posted on April 29, 2008

I’m always amazed over the general inconsistency that exists between information about Asperger’s syndrome published in books versus articles about the same subject published online! This is a huge red flag that should not be ignored, but the problem is that the people who have the greatest need for the correct information about those of us on the autism spectrum most likely will never read it or even know about its existence! Hopefully that will change over time, but for now it’s a serious problem. Why? Here’s why:

Today society wants everything fast and easy. First and foremost, people are conditioned to either get their education from what they hear on television or they get it through what their children bring home from government school. That’s understandable given how busy so many people are because of simply trying to survive. Those who fall into the category of ‘not having enough time and/or energy’ leftover for educating themselves should NOT form any opinion about people they do not understand! I know they do. Here are a couple of examples:

If someone has ‘meltdowns’ that send her or him into a hospital whenever holidays come around, s/he will be judged as behaving that way on purpose to avoid the stressful work of entertaining family during expected events. People don’t want to admit the possibility that the person who is having the meltdown may actually BE having a meltdown because of pumping out high levels of epinephrine from prolonged severe anxiety which then leads to adrenal exhaustion!

People who are less sensitive to sensing everything and everyone in their environment cannot perceive what it’s like for those of us who have heightened sensory awarenesses to such things as sounds, smells, visual cues, every individual’s vibes/attitudes, etc. For me, it’s the ‘spiritual energy’ of others that I’m powerfully sensitive to discern — especially if they’re unforgiving, malicious, manipulative, hypocritical, judgmental, arrogant, destructively aggressive, etc. (but yet those people are blind to what I see). These willfully ignorant (insensitive compared to my level of sensitivity) people are the ones who will condemn Aspies for wanting to withdraw from social events like Fourth of July barbecues, not even accepting an Aspie’s need to retreat from the social scene periodically in order to cope with the energy draining stress that spoiled NT people cause because of their selfish expectations and lack of understanding; thereby not accepting those who are merely ‘different.’

On the next level, there are some people who will read books to educate themselves about Aspergers. Both those who don’t shy away from using the internet and those who will not use the internet usually do read books. However, the tendency for most older neurotypicals is to avoid the internet because that’s not where they are ‘comfortable.’ They (who don’t go online) are the most likely people to not get exposure to the truth. So far, the internet cannot be politically controlled . . . BUT, for the most part, the publishing industry IS. There are a few books that get out there in print that aren’t too bad, but the fact remains — if a publishing company doesn’t believe a book will be popular, they don’t want it because they are a business in operation to make money. People like me are not writing to make money. I write because my conscience tells me to. This is NOT my hobby, nor is it my pleasure to blog. I simply KNOW (along with many other Aspies) that blogging is the only hope for truth to get out into public awareness.

Why am I so aggressive now? Why do books that get published blame aggression in older Aspies as being an Asperger trait? Because most people cannot know or realize how angry a person can feel once s/he discovers what’s really going on! The factual truth of this whole autism ordeal is that it has become political, just like everything else! If you’d like to read samples of this truth without aggressive emotions, then read such articles (completely through) like The Truth About Autism: Scientists Reconsider What They Think They Know by David Wolman written for Wired Magazine.

One last, but important note: People who do turn to the internet to sincerely want to know more about Aspergers face another hurdle. All the politically controlled large and powerful Asperger industry organizations that now have become dominant are the websites which most likely ‘hog’ search engine results whenever a person types in simple terms like, “Asperger’s Syndrome” or “Autism.”

Those who truly want to do humanity a service can make a big difference by even doing simple things like letting others become aware of how things really work in regards to how and/or what information gets to who. Pro-Asperger people are not allowed to speak on television. That should make most people angry. If it doesn’t, then you will eventually get what you deserve (i.e., reap what you sow).

Adult Aspie Compromise In Action

  • Posted on April 7, 2008

Unfortunately there are too many people who believe adults with Aspergers are unable to compromise. It’s also sad to see that people have a problem to respect a view if it’s one they don’t agree with. This is why I would like to show how sincere I am towards what I’ve said so far in my posts and comments by my removal of the prominent political symbol on my blog which reveals which party I lean towards. It’s not worth the upset I see it causing some people. I wish that people would realize that having a society run by a human government chosen by election is actually the outcome of reaping what mankind sows. Freedom to vote is far better than no freedom to vote, but woe to the country that no longer gives freedom to speak.

When people refuse to be under God’s rule (the Bible is God’s law book), then man must make his own rules (laws). The problem is that not everyone is alike, so what ends up happening is division. Humans fight against one another. They always have and they always will, because human nature is bent towards self-gratification. If I was unable to compromise and/or I was intent on gratifying myself, I would leave my political logo on my page. Since I don’t feel that would glorify God in any way, I would rather chose to honor His will by removing what’s not necessary to begin with. After all, no one really ‘needs’ to display their political stand when we can do that privately in the voting booth.

No one political party is totally wrong and no one side is completely right. But because there is such a thing in some countries as ‘election,’ sides need to be chosen. It is good to have opposite sides when each will allow the other to contribute for the benefit of the whole, but that’s not reality most of the time.

Imagine if the whole human race had to all of a sudden fight aliens from another planet or else become extinct. Would people be so busy with fighting against one another then? It is because almost all humans are not even aware of the fact that their enemies are not ultimately visible. We have to fight visible enemies when we do because mankind’s real enemy is invisible, highly deceptive, cunning, and evil.

That’s where faith comes in and that’s something I will never make a compromise with. Being unyielding with faith has nothing to do with Asperger’s Syndrome and/or being unable to compromise. What a person believes, along with how that person’s brain processes information, is who that person is. To change either, is to kill that person even though his heart might still be beating.

Limit one’s self without thinking?

  • Posted on March 7, 2008

I don’t know whether to laugh, be angry, or alternate between both, when I read such absurd statements about Aspergians as this one:

“Limits one’s self with pursued interests without thinking of other things that can be explored.”

I can just picture a shrink with her/his pen in hand silently writing down this note on a pad while listening to an aspie respond to her/his question, “So Joe, what things do you find interesting?” If I was Joe in that situation, I’d be tempted to say, “I find it interesting that you actually believe you can know what I don’t think about based upon what I tell you I do think about, but you probably can’t realize I’ve already decoded your pattern of analysis a long time ago and I can’t tell you that because then you’ll write down more derogatory notes about me like:

Very verbal, blunt.
Sarcastic, negative, emotionally numb, very criticizing.
Verbalizing strongly on likes and dislikes.
No interest in tasks that doesn’t draw personal interest.
Almost always totally serious.
Quick tempered.
Having a different way of playing games with others, and is sometimes taken the wrong way.
Does things without thinking them out well first, or considering consequences.
Very low assertiveness in topics not interested in.”

Of course the doctor isn’t going to share her/his ‘insights’ with her/his patient, but yet s/he wants everything s/he can pump out from her/his client. The more words s/he hears, the more ammunition s/he can have for milking her/his client’s insurance company. If the client either has no insurance and/or doesn’t own much, then that client gets a shorter ‘to do’ list (like figure out a way to keep the doc financially fed, then call again). God help us if we all have mandatory health insurance! If (or when) that happens, walking into a psych’s office will be like a fly landing on a Dionaea Muscipula (Venus Flytrap)! . . . or like someone with marital problems walking into a lawyer’s office! (Please, those out there who might take offense to what I’m saying — my words here are only meant for those who deserve the truth; you’re excused if you think so.)

Getting back to the limits one’s self with pursued interests without thinking of other things that can be explored . . . there are several factors involved here. For one, everybody has to limit her/him-self because the alternative is impossible. For another thing, it’s impossible for anyone to know what another person has thought about or has not considered. On top of that, it’s no one else’s business to decide how much time and/or energy another person invests into the things that interest him. It’s common knowledge that the length of time and the variety of interests that aspies have among their spectrum change unpredictably.

I can’t think of any person I know who I couldn’t say about her or him that s/he limits her/his-self with pursued interests without thinking of other things that can be explored. I would choose to not say that though because I’d rather live by the Golden Rule rather than the $Green$ Rule.
